This interesting design concept created by Stefan Buchberger, from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Austria has won the Electrolux Design Lab 2008 competition with his unique refridgerator concept called Flatshare. Flatshare is a modular fridge with individual compartments for people who live with several roommates. It would be useful in dorms, offices and apartments where multiple people may be using the same refridgerator.

“I got the idea to create the Flatshare fridge because in many shared flats there is a problem with the refrigerator,” says Buchberger. “It gets filthy because no one person feels responsible for cleaning it.”

The refrigerator consists of a base station and up to 4 stackable modules. Each module can be customized with various skins and different add-ons. Perfect for people that live with messy roommates.
